East Coast Trip Part IIII (The World of Coca Cola)

oright, last part of the east coast trip! weeee

on the very last day, before we decided to stop by somewhere in downtown area.
and it was raining and that dropped the temperature pretty severely.
I thought it was going to snow, but it didn't... until we came back to California.
The World of Coca Cola was past Georgia Tech, which was in the middle of downtown.
it wasn't too hard to find since it was nicely directed.
It doesn't really look like much but... it must much helpful.
When we got there, a HUGE coke bottle was there.
Coca Cola Bottle!! Oh man, this must be heaven!! haha
I love Coca Cola so it was a really good experience for me.
the entrance looked like this.
Open, Last entrance, Close. That was bout it.
Nothing much really. Nothing too fancy about it.
It costed $15 to get in.
$15!! It felt like I was paying to watch them advertise their drink but...
There's only one in the whole world, so I guess it was worth it.
Before we actually got started, there was coke... bottled... things...
It's supposed to represent all the countries that Coca Cola supply to.
They were all over the building throughout the tour.
There were TVs on the side with Coca Cola product names and stuff...
and then we were innn!!
There were some crazy things inside!
It was pretty insane! It was indeed the World of Coca Cola!
There was a movie documentary after we the introduction room (the picture above).
It was that super commercial of "what happens in the vending machine when you buy a Coca Cola."
It was... interesting. heh
After that there was a pretty wall with a nice decoration so I had to take a picture with it.
I wasn't so sure what it was, but it was sure pretty so I had to take a picture of it.
after, we moved on to the coke bottling center/room.
yup. that's how the bottling works... pretty much. haha
and there was huge picture thingy of where Coca Cola gets distributed world-wide
Biggest regret was I couldn't get a picture of Europe/Africa.
People behind me were dying to move out from the bottling room so I was forced out...
Should've taken another shot at it. :/
Anyways, moving on from there was the pop culture gallery.
and I have to say... It was one of my favorite rooms!!
it was very unique. not a whole lot to see, but it was still worth it.
I couldn't spend too much time here, but it would've been nice if I spend a little more time here.
Last, but surely not the least, was the TASTING ROOM! WOOT!
the moment that I was waiting forrrr!
This must be heaven! haha no im kidding. Heaven must be far far better than this. haha
but anyway, everything in that room was free of charge, and you can drink as much as you want.
one side of the room had all the variety of Coca Cola products sold in the U.S.
while the other room had Coca Cola products from ALL OVER THE WORLD!
oooh, that picture is smaller than I expected it to be... haha
Well, they were divided into different continents, and from the continents to different countries.
And everything was in a fountain drink fashion, just like in a fast food restaurant, so it was fairly convenient.
Upon exiting the building, there was the Coca Cola store that I couldn't really get a picture of.
We had to hurry out because we were short on time (had to come home... can't live there forever)
And at the very end, a free bottle of Coca Cola is given to take it home with you!
Pretty much, just grab one from those bottles and take it home with you.
YEAH!

That concludes my east coast trip.
It wasn't much of a trip I guess because I was working, but when I get the chance, I want to revisit again and move on slowly.
There are way too many things to see just in this country alone!!

CHHHHYYYEEEEAAAAAHHHH!!

east coast trip part III (Myrtle Beach -> Atlanta -> Pheonix -> Home)

Here we go, here we go, part III!

The very next morning, we decided "hey, since we're right by the beach, why don't we check it out!"
So we went, having a great expectation of the ATLANTIC OCEAN!!
It was my first encounter with the Atlantic Ocean so I was really excited.
Yup, a thing of a beauty. The sand felt a little funny, but hey, we were here!
so I turned around to see the beach and...
IT WAS DIRTY!!! haha
no, but seriously... it was really dirty.
I thought Santa Monica was dirty, but wow. Wait 'til you see the Atlantic.
Made me appreciate the Pacific a little more. heh

Here's the convention center that the show was held at.
Can't really see it from here, but it was shaped somewhat like a castle.
From the inside, it looked something like this...
I thought that looked pretty cool. haha
At the convention center itself, there was the "South Carolina Hall of Fame."

There were more than 25 people's pictures, along with their names and what they've done for the country.
But sadly, there was only one person that I knew out of all 25...
Andrew Jackson.
Well, I knew him because he's on the 20 dollar bill. haha
I'm not sure if I should study more about history, or South Carolina doesn't have many famous people that contributed to the country. heh
Yup, three days of the show felt like a pretty short time.
Thank God they provided free wireless internet at the show floor. It would've been really hard without it.

So after the show, we spent another night at South Carolina and left to Georgia early next morning.
On our way, we saw a cop car...
AND IT'S NEITHER FORD NOR DODGE!!
I guess it's California thing... Maybe not.
But I thought it was very, very unique to see a cop car that wasn't a Ford or a Dodge.
Anyway, our long trip started.
yes, 205 miles. And that was half way into the 20 freeway.
On our way, we ran into different restaurants and two really caught our eyes.
First one was the Waffle House.
We didn't particularly stopped by at the place, but...
We saw literally over 50 from Atlanta to Myrtle Beach, and from Myrtle Beach to Atlanta.
There were more Waffle House than McDonald's. I swear. haha
Number two was Hardee's
Yup, Hardee's. Not Carl's Jr.
We kept running into Hardee's on our way, so I got curious.
I thought "hey, they can't do that!" cuz you know... they used the logo.
But I found out that they were sibling company.
On the eastern side of the country, it's Hardee's, and on the western side of the country, it's Carl's Jr.
Pretty interesting. So we decided to stop by to try it... thinking that it'll be just like Carl's Jr.
As soon as we went in, I couldn't decide what I was gonna eat.
the menu was completely different. -_-
So we had to let couple people behind us go to finally get our order.
well, at least the cup was still the same...
But nevertheless, it was still good! (:

After we were done with Hardee's we decided to pump in gas before we hit the road again.
and LOOK AT WHAT WE FOUND!
I'm not sure if it's visible here, but the gas going up isn't digital, but it's all analog!
haha I'm not sure if that made sense at all, but yes... it was like old school throw back gas station gas pump!

We spent another day in Atlanta at GSN's house and we left to Pheonix.
Literally, there was nothing to see there...
Well, the only good things were...
1. Sports teams.
They were selling at the air port. D-Backs, Cards, Suns, and the Sun Devils... not too bad.
2. Infinity Challenge Dog Doll
During the New York episode, this doll comes out.
story is 정준하's girl friend bought this for him, telling him to laugh whenever he's down.
So what this dog does is it rolls around laughing.
Pretty cute stuff. I really wanted one.
3. Free Internet!!
Yeah, couldn't really get a picture of this (more like I didn't know how to), but it was cool.
4. GOOD PLANE (finally)
nothing compared to Virgin or any of the international planes, but this was the best one we got on.

And then we came back home. Home sweet home. (:
It was an interesting trip.

Oh, last one coming up. It'll contain pictures/experiences from the World of Coca Cola! :D

east coast trip part II (downtown atlanta)

Alrighty, here were go again! PART II!!

When we got to Atlanta, the weather was clear.
nice breeze, sun shine weather, little bit of chill in the air...
It was good because I felt like I escaped the storm in So Cal.

On our way to GSN's house, we passed by downtown Atlanta.
Tech's dorm. (I didn't know, but people who goes to Georgia Tech says they're from the "Tech." I guess it's like USC people saying they're from "SC.")
This was the Olympic thingy... or I thought it was... maybe not.
but hey, it looked pretty cool!
and this building is the building that represents downtown atlanta.
the story behind it is that Georgia Tech's student drew the blueprint for this building and during the time, his professor gave him a failing grade saying "what the heck is this?"
However, one of the business man saw the building blueprint and fell in love with it, so he bought it and paid him lots and lots of money.
so~ here it is, the "Pencil Building." I guess it's sort of like the US Bank building of downtown LA.
After spending some time with GSN's family, we hurried off to South Carolina.
We initially thought that it would take us more than 7 hours, but we were told that it will take about 5 hours.
Thinking that that's not too bad of a car ride, we left, but South Carolina was further than we thought.

As soon as we left downtown Atlanta until we got to South Carolina, it was just series of trees.
there aren't many trees around here, so I thought it was pretty good sight seeing.
It was indeed pretty in the beginning, but eventually, it got a little dull.
Imagine seeing this for 4 hours straight. Now that's pretty boring. -_-
Took us another 3 hours of driving or so to see this sign.

sweet! i thought we were almost there, but we soon found out that our destination was at the very end of the country. yeap. right here.
and we just crossed the border from Georgia to South Carolina.
We had to be at the show floor by certain time, so we hurried a little bit.
Not too much, just a little. only 25 mph more than the speed limit. haha
Little more into driving, the sun started to set. It was beautiful.
And we eventually got there after 7 hours of driving...
It was one of the longest drives I felt like I was ever on.

that's it for today. still a lot more coming up! (:

east coast trip part I (LA -> Charlotte -> Atlanta)

here comes a series of blog from my east coast trip.
well, here's part one. Our very first trip from LA to Charlotte.
I turned around from the shinning lights and found...
WHOA! air planes! haha it was behind this bar and they were circling around the clock tower in the middle.
pretty interesting so I had to take a picture of it with me in it saying... "I WAS HERE!!"
and then we took another flight to go to Atlanta.
There, we had to take a train to come out to the baggage claim.
inside, it looked like this (everyone had to be standing up... except the disabled)
train had several stops, and it was showing the stops in different languages.
AND OF COURSE, Korean! (:
as soon as we came out from the train, some things were on the wall.
couldn't really see what they were until I got close to them and found out that they were...
ANTS! I know, what the random. -_- haha

well, that's about it for now...
gosh, this is harder than I expected it to be. haha
there's a lot more coming up! weeee~
