east coast trip part II (downtown atlanta)

Alrighty, here were go again! PART II!!

When we got to Atlanta, the weather was clear.
nice breeze, sun shine weather, little bit of chill in the air...
It was good because I felt like I escaped the storm in So Cal.

On our way to GSN's house, we passed by downtown Atlanta.
Tech's dorm. (I didn't know, but people who goes to Georgia Tech says they're from the "Tech." I guess it's like USC people saying they're from "SC.")
This was the Olympic thingy... or I thought it was... maybe not.
but hey, it looked pretty cool!
and this building is the building that represents downtown atlanta.
the story behind it is that Georgia Tech's student drew the blueprint for this building and during the time, his professor gave him a failing grade saying "what the heck is this?"
However, one of the business man saw the building blueprint and fell in love with it, so he bought it and paid him lots and lots of money.
so~ here it is, the "Pencil Building." I guess it's sort of like the US Bank building of downtown LA.
After spending some time with GSN's family, we hurried off to South Carolina.
We initially thought that it would take us more than 7 hours, but we were told that it will take about 5 hours.
Thinking that that's not too bad of a car ride, we left, but South Carolina was further than we thought.

As soon as we left downtown Atlanta until we got to South Carolina, it was just series of trees.
there aren't many trees around here, so I thought it was pretty good sight seeing.
It was indeed pretty in the beginning, but eventually, it got a little dull.
Imagine seeing this for 4 hours straight. Now that's pretty boring. -_-
Took us another 3 hours of driving or so to see this sign.

sweet! i thought we were almost there, but we soon found out that our destination was at the very end of the country. yeap. right here.
and we just crossed the border from Georgia to South Carolina.
We had to be at the show floor by certain time, so we hurried a little bit.
Not too much, just a little. only 25 mph more than the speed limit. haha
Little more into driving, the sun started to set. It was beautiful.
And we eventually got there after 7 hours of driving...
It was one of the longest drives I felt like I was ever on.

that's it for today. still a lot more coming up! (:
